The Chicago Bears are in the midst of what could be a franchise-altering offseason with some big decisions that will dictate the direction of this team for the foreseeable future.
Bears general manager Ryan Poles already made his first big move — sticking with Matt Eberflus as head coach, despite some franchise-worst losing streaks and struggles to close out fourth-quarter leads.
Poles said it was his call to retain Eberflus, where it’s clear the third-year GM is tethering his future to Eberflus’ if things go downhill in 2024.
But perhaps Poles’ biggest decision will come at the quarterback position, where Chicago will have to decide between keeping Justin Fields or using the first overall pick on a rookie, most likely Caleb Williams.
Host Ryan O’Leary (@RyanO_Leary) and Alyssa Barbieri (@AlyssaBarbieri) talked about Chicago’s decision to retain Eberflus, the looming quarterback decision and more during the latest episode of the Bears Wire Podcast!
