A new English-translated book of poems written by Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi will soon be published in August this year.
Titled 'Letters to Self’, the book was originally written in Gujarati and it was titled ‘Aankh Aa Dhanya Chhe’. It is translated into the English language by noted film journalist Bhawana Somaaya, and it will be published by Fingerprint! Publishing.
“These are poems of progress, despair, quest, courage, and compassion. He reflects on the mundane and the mysterious and mentions obscurities he wants to unravel. I believe that what makes his writing different is his consistent emotional churning, his energy, and his optimism. He expresses without filters, and this intensity is infectious... His poems, prose, however, you wish to describe his writings, strike a chord, awaken an old wound,” translator Bhawana Somaaya said in a statement.
It is noted that PM Modi's previous book titled 'Letters To Mother' was also translated into English from Gujarati by Bhawana Somaaya. The prime minister's book 'Exam Warriors', which helped students deal with exam stress, was earlier published in 2018.
