A plush Edinburgh hotel is the running to be crowned as the best in the UK.
The luxury five star Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh - The Caledonian, is hoping to land the prestigious Hotel of the Year - group category prize at this year's Cateys and faces competition from three hotels south of the border as well as fellow Scottish nominee Fairmont, St Andrews.
Meanwhile, the capital hotel's general manager Dale MacPhee has been shortlisted for the Manager of the Year gong.

The UK-wide awards were created by The Caterer, a leading multimedia brand within the UK hospitality industry 'created to empower the leaders of today and the aspiring leaders of tomorrow'.
Other award categories this year include the Chef of the Year, Menu of the Year and Pub and Bar of the Year.
The team at the Waldorf Astoria, located on Princes Street, yesterday took to social media to share the exciting news and said: "We are incredibly proud to share that we have been shortlisted in two categories for the upcoming 2022 Catey Awards, hosted by @thecaterermag.
"We are honoured to be shortlisted this year for Group Hotel of the Year, in addition to Manager of the Year, recognising Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh’s General Manager, @dale_macphee!

Unveiling the nominees for the Hotel of the Year - group category award, organisers say: "The Hotel of the Year - Group category is open to any group hotel of any size and at any market level that demonstrates excellence in its chosen market, consistency of product and service, success as a business, present a healthy balance sheet and particular achievements in the past year.
"It is open to any hotel that is operated as part of a branded group with four or more units."
