Dramatic footage has shown the moment a flat went up in flames in Ayrshire.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene of the blaze, which took place on Park Road, Ardrossan around 1:15pm on Friday.
Footage taken at the scene shows a plume of thick, black smoke billowing from the ground floor of the property as it is engulfed by the inferno.
Blue-lit fire engines with their sirens blaring come racing round the corner before parking up on the pavement.
Firefighters armed with hoses then pour out on to the street and begin to tackle the flames.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service stayed on site for two hours while the fire was extinguished.
Crews could not confirm whether the flat was vacant or not at the time of the incident, but it is not believed anyone was injured.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
It is understood the area was cordoned off by police while officers carried out enquiries following the event.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We received several calls reporting a flat on fire at 1:15pm on Friday, May 20.
"Smoke was coming from a ground floor flat at Park Road, Ardrossan, North Ayrshire.
"We mobilised two fire appliances and the fire was extinguished using two main jets.
"Firefighters remained in attendance until 3:15pm.
"There were no reports of any casualties."
