PlayStation Network down as millions of gamers are locked out of PSN services

The PlayStation Network is down leaving gamers unable to access a string of online services.

Sony has confirmed that it is working to resolve a number of technical difficulties, which is currently affecting PS3, PS4, PS5 and PsVita users.

Services impacted by the outage include PlayStation Now, the PlayStation Store and the gaming and social services.

Gamers have also been unable to access a range of popular games, such as GTA V, FIFA 22 and Elden Ring.

Online service website DownDetector saw a peak of reports of issues with the service at around midday this afternoon.

And it appears to be impacting gamers across the globe.

One user wrote on DownDetector: “I want to play GTA so badly, me and my friend want to grind money but we can’t.”

Another added: “Definitely some kind of issue. Couldn’t play any game without being kicked or told I cannot connect.”

In a statement, Sony said: “You might have difficulty launching games, apps, or network features.

“We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
