Player grades: Zach LaVine scores season-high 43 points vs. Pistons

The Chicago Bulls won their second-straight game on Friday night, running past the Detroit Pistons, 132-118.

Chicago got off to a quick start, outscoring Detroit by eight points in the first quarter. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Bulls held a three-point lead before outscoring the Pistons by 11 points to earn the victory.

Zach LaVine led the way for the Bulls with a season-high 43 points, three rebounds, six assists, and two steals on an efficient 15-of-20 shooting from the field, 5-of-9 from downtown and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line.

DeMar DeRozan: B+

DeMar DeRozan finished with 22 points, six rebounds, five assists, and one steal in Friday’s win on 9-of-19 shooting from the field. Whenever a teammate like Zach LaVine is able to take over like he did on Friday, it makes DeRozan even more lethal as a second-option.

Zach LaVine: A+

Zach LaVine looked his best all season long on Friday night, scoring a season-high 43 points along with three rebounds, six assists, and two steals on an efficient 15-of-20 shooting from the field, 5-of-9 from downtown and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line.

Nikola Vucevic: B+

Nikola Vucevic finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, and three blocks. Vooch was a factor on both ends of the floor, shooting an efficient 9-of-16 from the floor and defending the rim.

Ayo Dosunmu: A-

Ayo Dosunmu finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and two assists in Friday’s win on 5-of-11 shooting from the field. Friday marked the first time in the last nine games that Dosunmu scored in double-figures.

Patrick Williams: C+

Patrick Williams finished with eight points, three rebounds, and one steal on 3-of-6 shooting in Friday’s win against the Pistons and helped keep Bojan Bogdanovic shoot just 42 percent from the field, roughly 6 percent below his season average.

Alec Caruso: B+

Alex Caruso returned to the lineup after missing three games in concussion protocol, finishing with eight points, two rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block on 3-of-4 shooting.

Andre Drummond: B+

Andre Drummond finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and two steals in 15 minutes in Friday night’s victory against Drummond’s former team, the Pistons.
