Player grades: Magic’s Jalen Suggs hits game-winner as Bulls lose fourth-straight

The Chicago Bulls lost their fourth-straight game on Friday as they fell to the Orlando Magic, 108-107 in dramatic fashion.

After Nikola Vucevic missed two-straight free throws, Magic’s Jalen Suggs hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 4.1 seconds left to clinch the game for Orlando as Chicago failed to hit their last-second shot.

Chicago got off to yet another slow start, allowing 37 first quarter points to the Magic, falling down by 13 heading into the second quarter.

The Bulls outscored the Magic 55-42 in the second-half but it wasn’t enough in the end.

DeMar DeRozan led the way for Chicago with 41 points on 16-of-30 shooting from the floor. On the other hand, Zach LaVine struggled mightily, scoring just four points on 1-of-14 from the field and was benched in the final minutes.

Check out the player grades from Chicago’s fourth-straight loss below.

DeMar DeRozan: A

Boy, did the Bulls need DeRozan’s scoring in Friday night’s loss. DeRozan finished with 41 points, four rebounds, and two assists on 16-of-30 shooting from the floor and 8-of-9 from the free throw line. Another great performance from Deebo wasted by Chicago.

Zach LaVine: D

Not an ideal night for Zach LaVine, who scored just four points, five rebounds, and two assists on 1-of-14 shooting and was benched for the final four minutes of the game. Understandably, LaVine was not happy with Billy Donovan’s decision as potential turmoil could be brewing in Chicago as the losses stack up.

Nikola Vucevic: B+

Despite the two missed free throws, Nikola Vucevic filled the stat sheet on Friday, finishing with 14 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and three blocks. Vooch has been up and down to start the season as his overall FG% is down from the last season but his 3P% is up from 31% to 38%.

Ayo Dosunmu: B

Ayo Dosunmu finished with 13 points, two assists, one steal, and three blocks in 24 minutes. Dosunmu shot the ball well, hitting 6-of-8 from the field as he’s shooting 50% on the year.

Patrick Williams: B

Patrick Williams finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 33 minutes of action. After a slow start to the season, Williams has been more consistent on both ends of the floor and on the glass as well.

Alec Caruso: B

Alex Caruso finished with seven points, one rebound and five assists in 23 minutes on Friday. Caruso’s per game stats are down for the most part this season as he’s playing three less minutes per game with the arrival of Goran Dragic.

Javonte Green: A-

On Friday, Javonte Green finished with eight points, two rebounds, one assist, and three steals in 18 minutes of action. Green shot a perfect 4-of-4 from the field and played all of his 18 minutes in the second-half, notching a team-high +17.
