A new scandal has emerged involving Karla Sofía Gascón, but this time, she is not at the center of it. Instead, the focus is on Rodrigo Aguilar Quintana, a supposed doctor who was arrested in Querétaro for practicing without a license. Aguilar had claimed to have treated the 'Emilia Pérez' actress.
The investigation began when a patient filed charges after suffering serious complications that led to hospitalization and a second surgery due to malpractice.
Following a raid on Aguilar's clinic in the Milenio III area of Querétaro, authorities seized university degrees, patient records, documents, electronic devices, and surgical equipment.
During the first hearing, the State Attorney General's Office revealed that Aguilar lacked the plastic, aesthetic, and reconstructive surgery specialization he advertised. He also did not have the certifications required by the General Health Law to practice.

Given the severity of the accusations and the prior complaint that triggered the investigation, the presiding judge ordered preventive detention to prevent Aguilar from fleeing.
Before his arrest, Aguilar promoted himself on social media as "Dr. RAQ," claiming over 15 years of experience in cosmetic surgery.
His now-defunct website listed prestigious institutions such as the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México as his alma maters. He also falsely claimed to be the president of a professional medical association.
On social media, he regularly shared before-and-after images of his patients, including the Oscar-nominated Spanish actress Karla Sofía Gascón.
Through his now-deactivated Instagram account, Aguilar claimed to have personally treated Gascón, referring to her as his "RAQ girl."
He even congratulated her on her recent Golden Globe win, where her film won in the Comedy or Musical category. Gascón has not confirmed or denied any connection with Aguilar, leaving it unclear whether she was among his victims.
Investigations into the case are ongoing. Aguilar's arrest marks the second major medical fraud scandal in the past six months. This case follows that of Marilyn Cote, who posed as a psychiatrist and illegally prescribed medication to patients.
