An office block on the outskirts of Edinburgh city centre could be demolished to make way for new homes or flats.
A planning proposal for the site, at 525 Ferry Road, has been put to the City of Edinburgh Council's planning team by a local developer that would see large office building bulldozed.
It is not yet clear if the intention for the site is to build a block of flats or homes, or if the entire office building will be involved in the proposed demolition.

The large building, which was constructed just over 20 years ago, looks out onto the busy Ferry Road and currently houses several different company's who rent their own office space.
The site also has private parking facilities, which are understood to be among the features kept if the development is granted by the council. On the planning portal, it says: "Proposed demolition of office building and development of residential development with associated commercial and ancillary uses, landscaping and parking."
The location plans does, however, include the whole building being consumed by the project, which is right next door to the suave Village Hotel which includes a sports centre, Starbucks and a signature bar & grill.
The plans also detail how three public consultation events are due to be held, with multiple local councillors also being informed of the proposals and leaflets being distributed to neighbours.
