Plans have been lodged to construct more homes at Ravenscraig.
The planning application would see 23 new homes with associated car parking, landscaping and other required infrastructure (such as bike and bin stores) at the site to the north of the Marston’s Inn development at Ravens Cliff at the junction of the New Craig Road and Prospect Hill Road.
The proposals will include four one bedroom cottage flats, four two bedroom cottage flats, 10 two bed terraced houses and five three bed semi-detached houses.
In its design and access statement, the architects of the site, McLaren, Murdoch and Hamilton state: “The proposed housing will provide for family and individuals with differing needs and circumstances.
“The scale and mass of the development is in-keeping with the local typology and will help build a new and vibrant community within the area.
“Given the design considerations, requirement for a variety of housing and planning history of the site, we believe our proposals as set out within this documentation delivers these requirements whilst enhancing the local architecture, character and community of the area and we would therefore respectfully request that you determine our application for approval.”
The documents also state that all houses would be provided with a minimum of one private space to their property with additional visitor parking nearby.
The proposal provides a total of 49 car parking spaces including six being wheelchair accessible spaces.
The proposals can be viewed via the North Lanarkshire Council website.
