Plans for a skate park in Derry have been put on hold after it emerged that residents failed to back the proposals.
Proposals for the city's first skate park reached a key stage last year when the council published a consultation asking residents about two short-listed sites.
The sites - on the Foyle Valley Park on the city's Foyle Road and a zone under the Peace Bridge - were chosen after council officers recognised them as having "good potential".

Elected members approved £20,000 of funding at a meeting in October 2020 for the design and development costs. The business arose in council after a petition was established calling for the council to establish a skate park in the city.
In the 2021 consultation, the council said that Urban Sports comprises of skateboarding, BMXing, parkour, and rollerskating was becoming "increasingly popular" within the city and would "create more opportunities for people to be physically active."
However, a spokesperson for the council confirmed those plans had been scrapped after it was not possible to secure residents’ support to develop the potential sites further.
"Council Members had previously approved the allocation of £20,000 towards design and development costs," the spokesperson said.
"Following detailed engagement on two proposed sites within the city, at Ebrington and the Foyle Road, it was not possible to secure residents’ support to develop these potential sites further.
"Officers are currently looking into other prospective locations and are also progressing a site selection process for a skatepark facility in Strabane arising from a Members’ mandate."
