Plans to open a fitness centre in Barrhead have been approved by council bosses.
A planning application to alter the Barrhead United Reformed Church, on Arthurlie Street, to a private membership gym was submitted last September.
The proposals were granted last month by East Renfrewshire Council, based on several conditions.
One of these includes that the gym must only be open to the public between 6am and 9pm, Monday to Friday, unless minor or temporary amendments are agreed in advanced by the planning authority.
The set opening hours are to help protect adjacent dwellinghouses from noise and/or disturbance.
And plans to extend Neilston’s pharmacy have been submitted to the council.
The proposals which have been put forward would see a single-storey rear extension be added to the pharmacy on Main Street if they are approved.
It will allow the medicine store to create internal storage space and provide a location for an automatic prescription collection unit.
Currently, the rear of the pharmacy is a backcourt with garden space.
The planning application was submitted in March and council bosses are yet to approve it.
