People in Edwalton say new drive-thru Starbucks could be a good addition to the area, as plans are put in place near the junction of Landmere Lane and Melton Road in Edwalton. Near the new Starbucks site location there is an Aldi, McDonalds, Costa, Greggs and Notcutts garden centre.
The site also neighbours a new Porsche dealership, which is currently being constructed. Residents in the area say the new drive-thru coffee shop will offer people ‘more choice'.

James Taylor, 28, from Nottingham, said that it would be a positive thing to add to the area. He added: “Yes why not, I don’t drink coffee but I suppose it would be alright. There's not much around here so it would be a good addition, it gives more choice.”
The new coffee shop would likely create around 30 jobs, with a mix of full and part-time roles. It would operate between 7am and 10pm, seven days a week.
Edwalton resident, Katie Hui, who is in her 30s, said: “We already have a Costa. I don't think it’s necessary. But it’s always good to have a choice.”
The plan includes an office building and EV charging spaces for the drive-thru. There would be 27 car parking spaces, two disabled spaces, and 10 electric vehicle charger bays.
Carl Dunston, from West Bridgford, says it would be nicer if it was a local independent coffee shop instead. But the 43-year-old added: “To be honest as long as they sort the access road, because this can be a nightmare.
“It would be quite nice if it wasn’t a global massive company, but would be nice if it was a bit more of a local business. I think anything else with the number of new houses and any amenities that are here is good for the new houses.”
