Plans for new clothing store to replace Glasgow gym

PLANS have been submitted for Primark to take over a Glasgow gym.

A planning application has been submitted to Glasgow City Council to replace the current Everlast gym at Glasgow Fort with the popular retailer.

According to the documents, the store would take over the ground and first floors, adding up to a whopping 44,745 sq ft of space.

Applicant Hercules Unit Trust has applied for permission to transform the first-floor gym into a retail space.

The ground floor is currently vacant, having been used as a DW Fitness previously.

If successful, the shopping giant will take over unit 31, overlooking Gartloch Road, between Poundland and Hobbycraft.

The bid is being considered by council bosses and a decision is expected by Friday, October 13.

The last day for comments is Monday, September 18.
