A beachside Edinburgh nursery could close and become a residential property if plans are granted by the council.
A pre-planning application has been submitted for a change of use at 27 Straiton Place, Portobello, which currently houses Seabeach Day Nursery at the promenade.
The application states a change of use from a nursery to a single flat, although the building is fairly sizeable over-looking the popular and vibrant Portobello Beach. It also states plans to build vehicular access directly to the property.

It is understood that the property would become two-bedrooms, as well as a spacious lounge and kitchen area with a separate shower and bathroom.
Some of the fixings in place for the current nursery such as lighting will also be kept if the plans are accepted.
The nursery was run by Active Kids, though no information regarding a possible closure has been made available. The location acted as a great way for children aged up to six-years-old to enjoy a day near the beach.
