Planning consent sought to create homes at former Hamilton social club

A planning application has been made to convert a social club and bowling green in Hamilton into an apartment complex.

South Lanarkshire Council received the planning application for the development on June 22 and validated it on June 30.

The application seeks to develop 12 homes on the site of Low Waters Miners’ Welfare and Social Club, which is now vacant.

The development will consist of 12 private apartments with landscaping and parking spaces for 29 cars. The proposed homes will have two bedrooms.

Neighbourhood consultation began today (July 4) and will end on July 25 and standard consultation began today and will end on July 18.

The deadline for determining the application is August 29.
