Planning application made for large scale housing development in East Kilbride

A planning application has been made to increase a proposed housing development in East Kilbride.

South Lanarkshire council received the revised application on February 21, the proposal seeks to change the original house types and increase the number of homes from 256 to 266.

The site will see a large-scale housing development with associated parking on land near Dunrobin, Newlands Road in East Kilbride. There will be a total of 252 parking spaces throughout the site.

The current site is agricultural land, the development will use up 11 hectares of land with Avant Homes being responsible for building the homes.

Neighbourhood consultation for the development began on April 6 and will end on April 27 with standard consultation beginning on April 12 and ending on April 26.

The deadline for determining the application is August 3.
