It’s August and we’re still searching for the 2023 Song of the Summer.
We’ve given you some solid candidates, but this one? I think it’s the winner, but there’s a twist.
A TikTok video from Kyle Gordon parodies what every European dance song in the 1990s sounded like: Planet of the Bass, by DJ Crazy Times and Ms. Bijana Electronica. It’s right on the money, between the sound, the singer and the rap that comes at the end.
But it’s an actual bop, a song people are actually enjoying and singing along to, or they’re just making memes out of the lyrics:
