When travelling on a plane, passengers should do their upmost to not negatively interfere with those seated around them. But this doesn't always work out, as one passenger came to learn when travelling across the country on a recent flight.
Taking to Reddit, he shared a photo of a woman resting her bare feet on the back of his armrest, preventing him from using it for much of the journey. He wrote: "This woman thinking my armrest is for her feet."
Disgusted, his post racked in more than 5,500 upvotes in less than 12 hours as well as 1,200 comments from outraged users. One user said: "Nah, nope, no, confront her and tell her about fungal infections, and how you don’t want one."
Another user added: "My best way to deal with this if this ever happens to me in the future is to 'sneeze' and jerk so hard that I elbow them right in the toes." A third user said: "Put your armrest up every time she puts her foot there."
One more user added: "I would take the most passive aggressive attempt and lean on my elbow, with her foot conveniently under it, as I adjust sitting position." It comes after a man shared how he got revenge on a passenger who also used his armrest as her own personal footstool.
The airline worker explained that he was travelling in economy from Boston to Los Angeles because there was no room for him in first or business class.
He says he "always tries to be respectful to everyone around him because he's a bigger guy", and expects other passengers to do the same. But his worst nightmare came true when he woke up from a nap to the feeling of a stranger's foot pressing against his forearm.
Taking to Reddit, he said: "So I get 24A, get to my seat, sit down, put my seat belt on and be quiet. About 20 minutes after take off, I am just waking up when I feel cold human skin under my left forearm.
"I look down and see disgusting dirty a*** toes with a heel on my arm rest. I nearly screamed, but I remembered I had a tube of mayonnaise from a sandwich I got in the terminal."
With that, the man rubbed the mayonnaise all over his fingers before grabbing the stranger's foot so hard he "felt his knuckles crack". The man added: "I heard screaming emitting from behind me 'He just put hand lotion on my foot'.
"Assuming it was her mother stood up and barked at me. I told her to teach her daughter manners and to wash her feet. They went to complain to the flight attendant who walked up and high fived me."
