Tragedy struck in southwestern South Korea as a plane crash claimed the lives of at least 28 individuals. The incident occurred at the airport in Muan county, where a Jeju Air jetliner carrying 175 passengers and six crew members crashed on landing. The local fire department has reported that the death toll is expected to rise as recovery efforts continue.

Emergency responders managed to rescue two individuals from the wreckage, but the focus remains on reaching those trapped inside the tail section of the aircraft. Images released by the Yonhap news agency depict a scene of devastation, with the plane's tail section being the only part left intact amidst the flames.
