Plaistow stabbing: Man in his 20s knifed in broad daylight street fight

A man in his 20s has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed during a fight in Plaistow.

Police were called to Willow Grove near Plaistow Underground station around 2pm on Tuesday to reports of a fight.

The man was found suffering from a knife wound and rushed to a nearby hospital, where his injuries were not found to be life-threatening.

An eyewitness who did not want to be named told the Newham Recorder: "We saw the air ambulance and a crowd of people.

“We think the person was stabbed in the neck. The police arrived very quickly."

A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called at around 1420hrs on Tuesday, 2 July, to a report of a fight in Willow Grove, E13.

“Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

“A man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was found suffering a stab injury.

“He was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening or life-changing.

“There have been no arrests at this early stage.”
