Pizza Hut has confirmed a major part of its restaurant experience is returning as Wales moves to alert level zero.
On Saturday, August 7 nearly all measures lifted across the country, although First Minister Mark Drakeford has cautioned everyone still has a role to play in keeping Covid under control. You can read Mark Drakeford's speech in full here.
Following the announcement, which confirmed face coverings would remain mandatory on public transport and in shops, many supermarkets moved to update their rules. You can read what Asda, Morrisons and Tesco said here.
And now restaurant-chain Pizza Hut has made a major announcement, confirming that its famous all you can eat Lunchtime Buffet will be back on the menu in Wales.
The Lunchtime Buffet has been off the menu since the closing of restaurants at the end of March 2020 due to the Covid-19 crisis, but now fans can once again indulge in unlimited pizza, the salad bar, the Ice Cream Factory and bottomless Pepsi Max refills.
It means customers in Wales can now pile their plates high with unlimited self-serve favourites once again, a luxury missed by many throughout the pandemic.
In the original buffet's absence, Pizza Hut Restaurants launched the "Bluffet", offering unlimited pizza and pasta via table service. But despite the temporary Bluffet's success, customers are still itching to get back to helping themselves.
Chief People and Marketing Officer at Pizza Hut Restaurants, Kathryn Austin, said: "We are excited to be able to finally put our guests back in control and give them their beloved Buffet back. We're so happy to be able to re-unite them with all their favourites, from the unlimited Pizza and Salad Bar to the Ice Cream Factory and bottomless Pepsi Max.
"We'd also like to thank all of our brilliant team members at Huts across Wales for their hard work under the difficult circumstances of the past 18 months.
"While we're celebrating the return of our much-loved unlimited offerings, the safety of our guests and team members remains paramount and so we ask that all our customers act responsibly when dining with us."
Pizza fans can help themselves to the buffet in Welsh restaurants on weekdays until 3pm from August 9 onwards. Adult meals are available for £8.99, and kids meals for £5.99.
The restaurant will continue to have a number of stringent hygiene and cleaning measures in place across all restaurants to ensure the safe-running of the buffet.
