Pistons Posted the Saddest ‘Highlight’ From Their Blowout Loss to the Lakers

No team in the NBA has been as depressing to watch this season as the Pistons

At 2–16, Detroit has the worst record in the NBA this season. But even that doesn’t illustrate just how dismal the team has been. It’s in the midst of a 15-game losing streak, one of just 14 streaks that long in the last 10 seasons

The Pistons’ latest defeat was a 133–107 blowout at the hands of the Lakers on Wednesday night. Needless to say, there wasn’t a whole lot that went right for Detroit. During the game, the team posted a grand total of three highlights on X, formerly known as Twitter. None of them were particularly thrilling, but there was one that was downright sad.

For some reason, the social media team thought Pistons fans needed to see Killian Hayes bring the ball up the court, avoid two half-asleep Lakers defenders and clang a 14-foot jumper off the rim that was lucky enough to rattle home. That is the most unremarkable clip I’ve ever seen a sports team post online, but I guess it’s noteworthy whenever the Pistons actually manage to score a basket.

The fact that the clip features Hayes, a total bust of a lottery pick who lost his spot in the starting lineup earlier this month, only makes it even more brutal.
