The Pirelli Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft is the successor to the most successful product from the brand in recent years. In fact, this model has been so successful that Pirelli decided to keep the predecessor's name and just improve upon the design. The tire is part of the Scorpion MX range, which is a lineup purely intended for off-road use, including motocross and supercross.
But this model is specifically made to tackle medium-soft terrain.
Improving upon such a successful product means a lot, when you consider the brand has won 82 world titles in the FIM Motocross Championship since 1980. But, when you have a product that was so good and successful, the question is: is the successor actually any better? Well, if the results of the Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft tire's first outing in competition are anything to go by, it's going to be one of the most dominant tires on dirt.

The new Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft tire made its racing debut in the International of Italy Motocross, where Tim Gajser MX1 found success in MX 1, as did Andrea Adamo in MX2—both rolling on the new rubber, which will be used in the 2025 World Championship by many of the leading riders. So, how has the Italian manufacturer managed to improve upon an already winning product?
Pirelli started by trying to improve the tire's braking behavior by changing the central section of the off-center knobs on the front tire to enhance dampening capacity and stability by better penetrating the ground. In theory, this should enable the rider to have more control when braking, as a consequence of having more grip.
The new two central knobs on the front tire, which improve stability, also serve to make cornering easier by offering more control and smoother handling. This should allow riders to corner faster.
Moving out attention to the rear, the shape of the tire's side knobs improves torsional rigidity for precise trajectories, and the lateral arrangement of the knobs increases traction when cornering. The interaction between the central and side knobs increases traction during acceleration and lateral thrust when cornering. All of these improvements should lead to better traction out of turns and during the holeshot.

Finally, the last improvement comes in the form of versatility. Pirelli has used a new thread compound and changed the shape and arrangement of the knobs in an effort to improve wear regularity and increase tear resistance. So, the new Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft should perform better and more consistently even on medium-hard terrain, which is good news for folks who ride a variety of dirt.
If you're a Pirelli fan, you'll already know the brand hasn't spared any effort in making this model look as good as it performs. It features sidewalls with high-contrast finish lettering for better readability and recognition, and here is where you'll also find the iconic Pirelli label in yellow and the Scorpion logo.
