We’ve seen a ton of bad calls made by Major League Baseball umpires this season, and that continued in Sunday’s Pirates-Braves game when home plate umpire Bill Miller called an obvious ball a strike, which led to Ke'Bryan Hayes striking out one pitch later.
Hayes was rightfully not happy with Miller and tried to talk to him about it after the game. Their brief conversation was just an awful look for baseball and all of the umpires who are working games.
Hayes later wrote on social media that Miller didn’t take any accountability for what happened. He also politely asked MLB to bring on robot umpires as soon as they can.
Some umpires really don’t care. 3-1 call not even close. I hold him accountable after the game walking off the field and his response is “🤷🏽♂️ I gave you a chance to hit a homerun” that tells me you don’t care at all. No accountability. Bring the ABS please @MLB pic.twitter.com/sgncakv8v8

Something needs to be done about these bad umps, because this is getting ridiculous.
