Pippa O'Connor reveals 'light bulb' moment that changed her life

Pippa O'Connor joined Amy Huberman on her Mamia & Me podcast and revealed that losing her mum while having a one year old baby made her feel "invincible".

Pippa's mum Louise Mullen died unexpectedly in 2014 at the age of 61.

Speaking to Amy about her various business ventures and raising her three children, Pippa said that around the time of her mum's passing, she had a "light bulb" moment.

She said: "I started my business around seven years ago, when I was 30.

"That's the year my mum died, so it was like the year she died was the year I kind of went "Well, that's it. I'm going to do what I want to do". I had all of these ideas in the back of my head that I was putting off and telling myself I wasn't qualified for.

"The mixture of losing my mum suddenly and having a one year old, it kind of made me feel invincible.

"For me, if I can do that I can do anything. I had a real light bulb moment."

She added: "Up until then I was modelling, and I was lucky that when I started modelling in Ireland, there was a model for everything.

"Some days I literally had six jobs a day. I was getting up at 6am to get from A to B, and finishing at 12am.

"I had so much fun and met so many people. That all gave me the life experience to do what I'm doing today."

Pippa recently helped raise a staggering €20,000 for the Irish Red Cross' Ukraine Crisis appeal with a sale on her online store, Poco by Pippa.

The business owner said that she was "blown away" by the response, as she revealed that almost everything in the special sale had sold out.
