Pipe ban sign new sponsorship deal

Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band have signed a new sponsorship agreement to celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary.

Proud of their unbroken 39-year association, Peoples Ford and the Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band have announced the signing of an extended and ambitious partnership that highlights the status of the band as one of Peoples Ford’s key community relationships and leads to a new era of collaboration between both organisations.

This formal partnership, now it its ninth year, will enable one of the world’s finest pipe bands to further build on their success and this year will cover the Grade 1 and Novice band sections.

On the announcement, Pipe Major Ross Harvey said: “The band are extremely proud to carry the Peoples Ford name. The support they give us is invaluable to our survival and success. This is particularly the case in the current climate.”

President Grant Walker said: “It is extremely fitting that our relationship carries forward into what is now the band’s 50th and Peoples Ford’s 40th anniversary years. Our relationship with Peoples Ford began in 1983 when the band played at the opening of the first Peoples Ford garage in Bathgate.

“The support Peoples Ford have given us since then is testament to their commitment and we remain one of only a small number of pipe bands with a named commercial sponsor.”

Brian Gilda, chairman of Peoples Ford said: “Peoples Ford has been a proud sponsor of the band over a long period of time and I am delighted to continue my support through 2022 and into 2023.

“My emotional and financial support for the band goes back many years and started when I opened my first Peoples Ford dealership in Bathgate nearly 40 years ago. I wish the band continued success and I am confident that through teaching and mentoring they will develop their pool of skilled young players that will secure the future talent of the band.”
