PIP, Universal Credit, JSA and 9 other DWP benefits will be paid early next week

Knowing when cash will drop into your bank account is an essential, especially if you have bills to pay. With a series of bank holidays in May, that means that many benefit payments will be paid on different days - and if you're in line to receive one of 12 benefits listed by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) that could mean that you will be paid early.

With the first of the month's bank holiday's starting on Monday, May 1, millions are in line for an early payment. There are a total of 12 different DWP benefits that will be paid next week.

If you are expecting a payment to be made on Monday, May 1, you will the money early. Expect the cast to land in your bank account early with most hitting accounts on Friday, April 28.

Early payment includes those people who receive Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Child Benefit, Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), Pension Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), State Pension, Tax Credits, and Universal Credit.

Be aware that the amount being paid should not differ, only the date the payment is being made. This isn;t the only Bank Holiday in May to be prepared for further date changes for payments next month.

Monday, May 8 is a Bank Holiday to mark the King's Coronation. So, if you are expecting a payment from the DWP on that date, benefits will once again arrive early. Instead, benefits are expected to be paid on Friday, May 5.

The flurry of bank holidays continues. On Monday, May 29, it is May spring Bank Holiday. For those expecting payment on this date, early payments are expected to be paid on Friday, May 26.

You do not have to do anything to change when the money is paid to you on these dates as the DWP will take care of it. HullLive reports, however, that if you do not receive your benefit payment one working day before the bank holiday, you should contact DWP directly.

Income Support, Jobseekers' Allowance and Pension Credit usually arrive every two weeks while the rest arrive every four weeks. April and May will also see the start of the £900 cost-of-living payments land in accounts.

It includes a further £300 payment for eligible families in autumn, and then a payment of £299 in spring 2024. There will also be a £150 cost of living payment for eligible people with certain disabilities, while millions will also receive an additional £150 to help with the increase in gas and electricity prices.
