Piers Morgan has been trolled on social media after he revealed he travelled 5,500 miles only to miss England's Test match.
The controversial TV host flew from Los Angeles to London to watch day four of the first Test between England and South Africa, only for Ben Stokes' side to lose the match on day three. Taking to Twitter, Morgan wrote: "I've just flown 5500 miles from Los Angeles specifically to be at Lord's @HomeOfCricket tomorrow for Day 4 of the Test match. *There may not be a Day 4."
England were comprehensively beaten by South Africa on day three, with Dean Elgar's side bowling them out for just 149 inside 38 overs to complete a memorable victory by an innings and 12 runs. Aside from Ollie Pope's 73 in the first innings, no other England batter passed 35 as South Africa's bowlers dominated.

And with the match ending early, The Mirror reports that fans on social media were quick to poke fun at Morgan. One joked: "there are upsides to being spanked in a Test Match then".
Another added: "Never been so happy for an England loss inside 3 days tbh". A third wrote: "Well done lads @benstokes38 @englandcricket x"
"important to take the positives out of a defeat," joked another. "Get in well done boys, never been more proud of being an England fan", wrote another.
However, Morgan later added: "Gutted though I am to be missing out on a day at Lord's, I love the way England are now playing Test cricket under @benstokes38 @Bazmccullum - and I'll take the odd wobble for all the thrills/wins. Go get 'em in Manchester, chaps."
And Stokes is confident England will respond in the second Test, saying: "We've got a certain way we want to play. We know we can be an incredibly hard team to play against if we execute that, hard to beat.
"We can't be great every day. This week was just off for us. But we're not going to hold on to it for too long and carry any baggage to Manchester."
