Piers Morgan teases 'most explosive interview of the year' as Donald Trump storms out

Piers Morgan has shared that his first interview on his new show will be with none other than Donald Trump. The former Good Morning Britain star's show, Piers Morgan Uncensored, launches next week on the new TalkTV.

The 57-year-old presenter has teased that it is the 'most explosive interview of the year' as he gave his followers a brief glimpse at what is to come. The 30-second advert shows Piers and the former US president clash over Mr Trump’s claims that the last US election was rigged.

And the brief clip then appears to show the President storming off camera, turning the tables on Piers whose very own walk-out on GMB back in March 2021 went viral before ultimately leading to his permanent exit the same day.

Piers' interview with Mr Trump will be screened via TalkTV on Monday, April 25, at 8pm when the new network launches and kicks off the controversial journalist's string of weeknight shows. Sharon Osbourne will also appear in The Talk on weeknights at 9pm.

And he has also revealed that minutes before the interview was due to take place, Piers was handed a three-page document by a member of his production team which featured a collection of quotes of things he had reportedly said about Mr Trump. "These were by far the worst things I’d ever said about a man with whom I’d been friends for 15 years, but I felt they were justified when I said them, and I still do now," Piers wrote in The Sun.

Piers was Mr Trump's first Celebrity Apprentice winner on the 2008 series which ended up making him a TV name and the usual cheery greeting he was used to was suddenly replaced with "What the f**k IS this?’," according to Piers.

Despite a lengthy and tense exchange in Mr Trump's office, he did eventually turn up for the interview and, after being promised twenty minutes of his time, ended up chatting for 75 minutes - even after shocking the TV crew, telling them: "TURN THE CAMERAS OFF!"

But now, Mr Trump has denied that he walked out of the interview in a statement, claiming the clip was "deceptively edited" with Piers quickly hitting back on Twitter, writing: "Morning, Mr President! It was a great interview, thanks for all your time.

"Sorry you got so annoyed that I don’t believe the 2020 election was rigged or stolen from you, but as I said, where’s your proof? If you have it, show us - or accept the result and move on."
