Piers Morgan stands by claims Donald Trump 'stormed off' new chat show

Controversial presenter Piers Morgan has stuck by his claims that former US president Donald Trump stormed off his new chat show during a heated debate.

According to the limited clips from the interview, Trump dubbed Piers a "fool" and refused to continue the conversation, shouting to producers to "turn the cameras off".

On the Lorraine show on Thursday morning, Piers stated that: "Anybody who is trying to disagree with me, all I can say is watch the interview - it speaks for itself."

Former friends turned opposers, Donald and Piers clashed over a chat where Piers accused the politician of being "in denial" of losing the US election, reports the Mirror.

In the teaser, viewers can see Trump seated across from Morgan on his show, in Trump's first televised interview with the former ITV star since Trump departed office.

He tells the former Good Morning Britain host: "Okay Piers I'm ready," as the voiceover calls him a "former president in denial".

As the pair continuously interrupt each other and butt heads, Trump gets up and walks out of the set - with the chat estimated to have lasted for 75 minutes in total.

Trump tells Piers: "You’re not real. You’re a fake," to which Piers replies: "No, I’m just brutally honest."

The politician also said: "I'm a very honest man, much more honest with you", as the chat ends with Trump claiming: "Let's finish up the interview. Turn the camera off. Very dishonest."

Piers opened up about what happened from his perspective, stating: "Trump ranted that he was far more honest than me, and again sneered that I wasn’t ‘real’ before haranguing me for exceeding our 20 minutes which was particularly disingenuous given that during all our previous interviews, he’d invariably decided exactly how long he wanted to keep talking."

The show will see Morgan making his hosting comeback, over a year on from him departing ITV's Good Morning Britain - after he stormed off live on air during a row with co-star Alex Beresford.

Piers Morgan Uncensored launches on Monday 25 April on Talk TV at 8pm.
