Piers Morgan has slammed Vladimir Putin after Russia declared war on Ukraine.
In what many are warning could be the worst European war since 1945, Ukraine's interior ministry has said there are already "hundreds of casualties", according to reports.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 57, said Putin, 69, has "chosen a path of bloodshed and destruction" and Piers, 56, was quick to make his feelings about the president clear.
Taking to Twitter, he said: "Putin’s invaded Ukraine. This is an act of war by a bully-boy thug who doesn’t think the rest of the world has the guts or will to stop him. Shameful."
Despite the "bloodshed", Piers' post was met with mixed reaction, with many of his followers slamming him for weighing in on the drama.
One person replied: "Well thank you for that insightful comment of complete and utter uselessness. Is that the extent of your political insight? No wonder you’ve had the career you’ve had."
While another quipped: "You looking in the mirror Piers?"
It's not the first time the outspoken broadcaster has opined on current affairs.
Last week he branded Prince Andrew a "snivelling little coward" and accused the Queen's son of ruining "what’s left of his shattered reputation".
On February 15 it was announced that Andrew, 61, and Virginia Giuffre, also known as Virginia Roberts, had settled out of court in her civil sex assault claim against him.
However Piers thought the agreement was a cop out, writing in The Sun : "The trial would surely have exposed Andrew as a liar at best, and at worst, a sexual predator."
The royal has always strongly denied the accusations, but by settling out of court, the ex-Good Morning Britain host claimed we may "never know the truth now".
Like him or loathe him, Piers does tend to rub people up the wrong way.
From Meghan Markle to Little Mix, Gwyneth Paltrow to Dan Walker, the broadcaster has managed to clash with a number of celebs over the years, but one of his most bitter and long-running beefs is with pop icon Madonna..
The presenter has previously labelled the legendary singer "pathetic", "embarrassing" and insisted she " doesn't know how to age gracefully".
Most recently, Piers slammed Madonna's "cringe" dominatrix-style outfit at last year's VMAs and last month said she's "so mean with money her purse has to be opened with chainsaws".
Madonna has never responded to any of presenter's claims, but Piers reckons the mum-of-four is "attention seeking" and an 'irritant in his life for 20 years'.
