Piers Morgan has accused Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of 'rank hypocrisy' for accepting royal titles on behalf of their children.
The former Good Morning Britain presenter, 57, says the Duke and Duchess are wanting to have their 'royalist cake and eat' thanks to the couple declaring it is their children Archie and Lilibet's birthright to have royal titles.
Alongside defending his pal Gary Lineker, Morgan mused on his TalkTV show how Harry and Meghan cannot slam the royal institution and claim living as a member of the British Royal Family is like 'living in a prison' if they are happy to allow their offspring to take part in traditions they have slammed.
The broadcaster's comments follow the recent news the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's daughter was christened Princess Lilibet Diana earlier this month, with Harry and Meghan making the revelation public via a statement issues on Friday.
Following the couple's decision to quit life as working royals in 2020, along with their subsequent bombshell Netflix documentary and Harry's tell-all memoir, many have pondered why the couple are happy for their two children to have royal titles.
Morgan, a long-time critic of Harry and Meghan, didn't hold back when discussing the latest royal rift and regal gossip with some guest on his TalkTV show this evening.
"They kept telling the world how bad the Royal Family is - it's a prison camp and all the royals want to get away from it - but now they want to give their kids titles?" Morgan began when chatting to his guests.
He continued: "They don't live anywhere near the Royal Family, they don't do any duties and they live in a mansion in California."
As guest Russell Myers pointed Harry and Meghan "have made an awful lot of money from telling people how bad the Royal Family is", Morgan fumed: "It's rank hypocrisy yet again from these two!"
Piers wasn't the only one to rant about Harry and Meghan on TalkTV this evening.
Before the former Good Morning Britain appeared on screen for his weeknight show, Jeremy Kyle kept Piers' seat warm for an hour with his own self-titled programme.
The former ITV presenter kicked off his show with an explosive discussion about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex - accusing the happy couple of being 'dodgy' when it comes to releasing statements.
As one commentator explained how Princess Lilibet and her brother Prince Archie could have possibly had their titles confirmed a long time ago, Jeremy mused if Harry and Meghan's recent statement was deliberately timed to cause drama before the King's coronation.
"They're dodgy - it's always about timing with them. Why now? It's always a game with them," the former ITV presenter ranted on his show this evening.
"Why are they so keen all of a sudden [to announce Archie and Lilibet's titles]?"
He later went on to claim: "It's all about the cash. It's about the brand - it's about using every damn thing they can to [boost their profile] and it stinks!"
