Piers Morgan blasted former US president Donald Trump as "ridiculous" for storming off his new TV show, Uncensored.
The former Good Morning Britain presenter appeared on Lorraine Kelly's breakfast show this morning, marking his first trip back to the ITV studios since he walked out over a row about Meghan Markle two years ago.
Old pals Piers and Lorraine were chatting about Piers' new show, his explosive trailer for his very first interview with Trump for the series, and the "nonsense" cancel culture of modern times which he'd like to stamp out.
As Piers made his way on to the Lorraine set, the two journalists had a laugh as he pretended to have a strop when he came on. Lorraine joked he was "storming back in" before telling him he made her think of an old saying her dad used to use.
The Glasgow-born telly star said: "If you fell into the river Clyde, you'd come out bone dry and with two salmon in your pocket."
Getting him into a good mood with her joke, Lorraine and Piers then proceeded to discuss his bombshell interview with Trump.
Piers is set to have a television comeback to remember as a trailer for new show Piers Morgan Uncensored on TalkTV sees the host grill Trump over the US presidential election.
During the exclusive interview, Trump branded Piers "dishonest" and a "fool" before refusing to take the interview any further, shouting to "turn the camera off".
It all kicks off in the teaser when Trump sits down for Morgan's first interview for the programme, with it their first televised interview since Trump departed office.
He tells the former Life Stories host: "Okay Piers I'm ready," as the voiceover calls him a "former president in denial".
As the duo continue to talk over each other, it concludes with Trump getting up and walking out of his seat - with the chat said to have gone on for 75 minutes.
Trump tells Piers: "You’re not real. You’re a fake," to which Piers replies: "No, I’m just brutally honest."
But Piers reckons the furore was "ridiculous" and Trump was "confused about how it went".
He said: "We had a very heated debate about his repeated claim that he didn’t lose the election.
"He says it was a rigged election and he now says I have a rigged promo.
"He got very heated with me as he thinks he should have won the Presidential election, he took it badly and has concocted a story it was fraudulent and he somehow had it stolen and when I said I didn’t believe him, he lost it and he didn’t like it.
"It is ridiculous, think people will find it fascinating.
"I was supposed to have 20 minutes with him, we had a heated argument before we went on air because someone close to Nigel Farage sent him a three-page dossier of the criticism I've made of him.
" I always try and be fair about Trump, more balanced than most journalists - I always try to nee somewhere in middle.
"We got 70 odd minutes in the end, it's riveting, it's fascinating, it's revealing, a lot of it is fun, we have laughs, I do agree with him at points.
"His bone of of contention is part of the interview which is key to what’s going on with Trump right now - he could be reelected and it's a battle for the soul of the Republicans.
"He refuses to accept he lost the last free democratic election, should he be entitled to run again?
"I looked him straight in the eye and said he didn’t lose."
Lorraine didn't hold back in challenging her old colleague, and highlighted the fact Caitlin Jenner has now pulled out of her scheduled interview for the new show.
She was set to come on and discuss the issue of Trans athletes competing in female sporting categories.
Piers replied: "
Piers replied: "I've interviewed Caitlin for live stories, she's a compelling character, she was going to come on and talk about an issue which we both agree on, that Trans athletes shouldn't get to compete in these categories.
"I thought wed booked Caitlin, she shares that view , she’s honest about the unfairness of trans athletes competing against women but now she's read Trump's statement that it was a rigged promo and now she’s cancelled.
"And the promo reflects what happened, Trump got angry about one particular thing and he couldn’t let it go, he had simmering anger about what was sent to him."
Piers also added his show would be a space for "common sense views" and added: "the woke mob are not liberal, they are a new form of fascists, I am not going to let them get away with it."
In the promo for the interview, there is also one part where Trump is thought to have had it out with Piers over his comments about him.
Trump tells Piers: "I'm a very honest man, much more honest with you," in the interview dubbed by the show as 'Morgan vs Trump'.
Ending their chat, he tells Morgan: "Let's finish up the interview. Turn the camera off. Very dishonest."
Speaking about the interview, Morgan shared of the moment Trump "foamed at the mouth" and shouted: "What the f**k IS this?" at him.
