Piers Morgan slams 'disgusting' Meghan and Harry for 'branding Britain a racist country'

Piers Morgan has lashed out at Meghan and Harry for "branding Britain a racist country".

The former GMB presenter, 57, slammed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after their Netflix documentary was released this morning.

In a series of tweets, Piers called the couple "boring" and blasted Meghan for "trashing her own father". He also accused them of being hypocrites after Harry suggested it was "amazing what people will do when they’re offered a huge amount of money".

Sitting down to watch the documentary, Piers began by tweeting: "This is worse than Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Something I didn’t think was humanly possible. #HarryandMeghanonNetflix."

He added: "God, they're so boring!"

"Disgusting how they’re repeatedly trying to brand Britain a racist country," Piers fumed. "Most tolerant place in Europe, as all the coverage of their engagement/wedding showed. #HarryandMeghanNetflix."

After declaring that his chat show this evening would be an hour-long special "whine-a-thon", he continued to tweet and posted crying laughing emojis with a quote from the couple that read: "We've never been allowed to tell our story until now."

He continued: "Markle explaining why she uninvited her distraught niece to her wedding is hilarious. Ms Compassion literally binned off her own family for the likes of George Clooney, Oprah & David Beckham. #HarryandMeghanNetflix."

Piers then tweeted: "It’s amazing what people will do when they’re offered a huge amount of money - hand over photographs to create a story’ - Prince Harry, who was paid £90 million by Netflix to hand over photos & create a story. This is so funny. #HarryandMeghanNetflix."

Going on to slam Meghan for "trashing her own father", he hit out at Harry for saying that "she doesn't have a father".

"Wow. Shocking thing for Harry to say about Thomas Markle, the man he has never met," he tweeted. "She does have a father, and he brought her up on his own for years. Where is that in the documentary? #HarryandMeghanNetflix."

Prior to the release of the documentary, no press previews were available and the trailer was the first glimpse at footage used in the series.

The Royal Family had been warned to brace themselves for their worst nightmare yet, with the Prince of Wales said to have had crisis talks with his father King Charles over the show.

One source in contact with a Netflix production insider told the Mirror: “I genuinely think it’s going to be worse than the royals can imagine.

“I’m told that it’s going to be utterly explosive and will be very damaging.”

It comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were said to have "betrayed the agreement they made with the Queen", according to royal sources.

The couple are believed to have not honoured an agreement made with the late monarch at Sandringham back in January 2020, which was reached shortly before they moved to the United States.

Following the meeting, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex pledged that “everything they do" would "continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty”.

A Palace statement released on behalf of the late Queen at the time also read: “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family."

However, their loyalty to the Queen and her legacy has been questioned following their string of high-profile attacks on The Firm, including their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey last year.

During the explosive interview last year, Meghan made a number of shocking bombshell claims including that she was suicidal during her time in the royal family, accusing her in-laws of being concerned about how dark Archie's skin would be and claiming the Duchess of Cambridge made her cry.
