Piers Morgan has hinted that he's ready to enter politics, tweeting a picture of himself outside No 10 Downing Street saying: "It may be time."
The former Good Morning Britain host took to social media to share his reaction to the political chaos gripping Westminster, The Mirror reports. First of all he urged Liz Truss to resign, and once she'd done exactly that, he told his 7.9million Twitter followers that he thought Rishi Sunak should replace her in the top job.
Just hours before Ms Truss' statement outside No 10, Piers tweeted: "You're making Britain an absolute laughing stock @trussliz - put your country before your pathetic attempt at self-preservation, and resign."

The after she had announced she would be stepping down as Prime Minister, the TalkTV presenter said: "It's over. Liz Truss is resigning and will become shortest-serving Prime Minister in British history. What an absolute shambles."
He added that Rishi Sunak should "seize the moment" and take over from Ms Truss, telling the former chancellor: " These are serious times and we need a serious & competent Prime Minister."
But after backing Mr Sunak for the job, Piers then seemed to suggest that he could do the role himself one day. He posted an old picture of himself outside 10 Downing Street, and told his followers: "It may be time."
In the comments below, Twitter users were dived on whether this would be a good idea. @Jason_Tipping said: "I'd vote for you." And @abu_omya commented: "Go for it Piers! I am rooting for you."
@EmmaWil45524715 said: "Love it!" And somewhat less enthusiastically @ian_pilarski wrote: "You definitely couldn't do any worse!"
However, others were not convinced. @IMSpardagus tweeted: "We haven't sunk that low." @TweetOfSatan_ said: "No way .....it has to be Gordon Ramsey but never you."
@millennials4_wp commented: "No no, we want Hugh Grant!!!!!!" While @bennybeggs referenced Piers' famous loss of temper on ITV's Good Morning Britain when he stormed off set, saying: " Would be fun to see actually, imagine a prime minister who just gets up walks away after getting questioned and not seen for days."
Piers also gave his views on politics in a recent appearance on the BBC's Question Time on October 6. Shortly after then Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng had announced another U-turn, an audience member asked: "How long do you think Liz Truss will be able to continue as Prime Minister?"
The presenter laughed and replied: ""Tonight? I think she's done. I think if you come in at this stage, two years until an election, with the polling as catastrophic as it is - and it's a direct result of the first thing you do for the country - and you play casino politics with the nation's economy, putting it all on red then it comes up black, and [the pound plummets].... I'm not sure how she has the brass neck to stay in the job.
"Along with her Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng. It's not that I'm pro or anti the Conservative Party - this is supposed to be the party of fiscal responsibility but it couldn't be anything but the opposite."
