Piers Moran has insisted that his now infamous exit from Good Morning Britain was a complete 'farce'.
The 57-year-old furiously stormed off the set of the ITV show in March 2021 after getting into an explosive debate with Alex Beresford following his controversial comments on Meghan Markle.
The TV host had long made his opinion of the Duchess of Sussex apparent, but following her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, Piers' comments became too controversial for GMB viewers to cope with.
As a result, his comments sparked a record 58,000 complaints to Ofcom and his time on Good Morning Britain came to an abrupt end after six years.
Lifting the lid on his controversial exit from the ITV show, Piers insisted: "The whole thing was a farce."
The presenter went on to suggest that his GMB exit happened for a reason because he's now 'delighted' with his brand-new show, Uncensored, which allows him the freedom of speech.
Piers told: "I'm delighted that as a result we've ended up with a whole network which is now dedicated to preventing that kind of farce from recurring.
"You shouldn't be shamed, vilified or cancelled for having an opinion."
Ahead of Uncensored's debut on News UK's TalkTV channel, Piers has revealed that his former Good Morning Britain co-star Susanna Reid has wished him good luck.
The pair hosted the ITV show for six years together before Piers' controversial exit last March.
Piers brand-new show is set to launch on April 25 at 8PM and each episode will be 60 minutes long, and will run every weeknight.
Uncensored will mark Piers talk show return more than a year after leaving Good Morning Britain.
Lifting the lid on his new venture back in March, Piers revealed: “A year ago today, I was forced to leave a job I loved, at the peak of its success, for having the audacity to express an honestly held opinion.
"This shouldn’t happen in any democracy supposedly built on the principles of free speech and freedom of expression.
"I’m delighted to now be returning to live television with a new daily show whose main purpose is to cancel the Cancel Culture which has infected societies around the world.
"I want it to be a platform for lively vigorous debate, news-making interviews, and that increasingly taboo three-letter word: fun. I also want it to annoy all the right people.”
Uncensored begins on News UK's TalkTV channel next Monday at 8pm.
