Piers Morgan has reacted to the latest school shootings in the United States which has left 21 people dead.
The tragedy in Texas on Tuesday saw a gunman open fire near Robb Elementary School before reportedly running inside of the building and continuing to shoot.
Governor Greg Abbott initially said 14 students and one schoolteacher were dead and more than a dozen people were injured in the horrifying incident, but police have since updated the rising total.
And Piers Morgan, who often slams the gun culture in America, took to Twitter following the incident to share his dismay.
The presenter, 56, was one of many public figures to condemn the actions and first wrote as the news broke: "BREAKING NEWS: 14 schoolchildren and a teacher at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas have been shot dead by an 18-year-old gunman.
"Absolutely horrendous. I don’t know what else to say about these endless US gun massacres - it’s for Americans to resolve but where is the will?"
He followed it up shortly after, saying: "Nothing was done after Sandy Hook to stop another school massacre like that happening again. It’s now happened again.
"Schoolchildren being slaughtered in their classrooms should not be a political issue. Please, America, stop the partisan bullsh*t and do something to stop it."
He retweeted the views of several others, including tennis star Andy Murray who was a pupil at Dunblane Primary School, Stirling, when gunman Thomas Hamilton opened fire on a gym class on March 13, 1996.
The sportsman called the events in Texas "madness," with Piers replying: "As you know better than most. I don’t understand the lack of will to at least try to stop it happening."
The TalkTV presenter went on to share a tweet from Amanda Gorment which he agreed with.
It read: "It takes a monster to kill children. But to watch monsters kill children again and again and do nothing isn’t just insanity—it’s inhumanity."
The shootings were also addressed by US president Joe Biden who mourned the loss of life.
He said: "As a nation we have to ask, ‘When in God’s name are we going to stand up to the gun lobby? When in God’s name do we do what we all know in our gut needs to be done?"
While he didn't specifically outline steps that the White House plans to take, he did signal there would be a focus on assault weapons.
He added: "If an 18-year-old can walk into a gun store and buy two assault weapons, it’s just wrong.
"What in God’s name do you need an assault weapon for except to kill someone? Deer aren’t running through the forests with kevlar vests on, for God’s sake. It’s just sick."
