Celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has rounded on the Gunners after their dismal defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday.
The Gunners were smashed 4-1 by Pep Guardiola's men to leave their hopes of winning the Premier League title in tatters. While they are still top of the division, City have two games in hand and are only two points behind Mikel Arteta 's side.
But the damage to their title bid was done before the trip to City, with the defeat being their fourth game without a win. And Morgan pointed to those results, as well as the performances of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey and Oleksandr Zinchenko as the cause of their faltering title challenge.
"We choked a two goal lead against Liverpool, West Ham, we struggled to draw with Southampton and now we've been destroyed by Man City. There's no easy way to say this but we have bottled it," Morgan told talkSPORT.
"It comes down to mentality. I don't think City man for man walked out and thought we're better, but the truth is after that game every single City player played better than their opposite number.
"This kid Akanji completely neutered Saka. Martinelli didn't get a kick, Jesus didn't get a kick. Partey had a poor game, Zinchenko disappeared. The defence was hopeless. Arsenal looked like frightened rabbits. It's a mental thing, we were physically beaten.
HAVE YOUR SAY! Can Arsenal still win the Premier League title? Comment below.
"We were mentally destroyed. I tweeted a moment when Guardiola pulled over Ederson for some tiny little mistake. It's a Ferguson mentality. It's that win at all costs, never ever give an inch."
Despite Wednesday's chastening defeat, Morgan is not totally giving up hope of winning the title. Instead, he has urged the Gunners to pick themselves up and put the pressure on City to overhaul them in the league.
"Arsenal have five games left, we're two points clear. If we win all those games then the question is on City. They're not easy games [for City]. With all their important games, will their players be in the right mentality?" Morgan added.
"There's a chance they could drop some points. Arsenal have to grow a pair, put the bottle job mentality to one side and they have to win these five games. And then ask a question of Man City.
"We were eight points clear. That team bears no relation to the team I watched last night. We built our hopes up and last night it looked like the players didn't believe they could win the league.
"Normally there are wobbles. Anything can happen. If Haaland gets injured, they lose the most dangerous players in world football. If this City team stay fit they're going to be completely unstoppable."
