Ireland's surprise win over England in the T20 Cricket World Cup inevitably generated a bit of a bandwagon effect as the likes of Leo Varadkar and Micheal Martin tweeted their delight at the success.
But amidst many of the standard cheering voices was a somewhat surprising one as Piers Morgan claimed to be delighting in the rain-aided upset.
Retweeting Cricket Ireland's gleeful victory post, he said: "Great day for we Irish."

It is only somewhat surprising since the controversial broadcaster has espoused his support for Irish sports teams before.
Back in March, he went all-out by donning an Irish hat and scarf prior to our men's rugby team running out winners over England in the Six Nations.
The Surrey native does have strong ties to Ireland as he explained in 2019 while accepting an award from The Irish Post.
He said: "Well my father was Eamonn Vincent O'Meara and he died when I was just one.
"He came from Galway and he had a sister who moved to Offaly, and a lot of cousins in Dublin. So I feel very Irish."
"I had my DNA test done last year. Zero English and almost exclusively Irish. So whether you like it or not, I am one of you."
And dislike it plenty of Irish people do judging from the replies to today's tweet.
Emmett commented: "I have asked everyone here, and can confirm.....we do not want him either."
While Padraig added: "You're as Irish as tikka masala."
But some followers took it in good humour with Willie saying: "Hon Pearse O'Morgan boy."
Lastly, Mick tweeted: "I am in the 1% of Irish people (judging by the comments) who appreciate your support Piers. From JFK to Tyson Fury, the diaspora are a source of pride. Go Ireland!!"
