Piers Morgan has revealed Matt Hancock has landed back in England following his stint in the jungle.
The former Good Morning Britain presenter, 57, told his Twitter followers how he had an 'awkward' encounter with the disgraced MP at Heathrow Airport today, as the politician finally returns home ready to resume his work duties and meet with his constituents in West Suffolk.
Piers, who was critical of Mr Hancock's decision to appear on the ITV show, told his fans online how he told the controversial campmate how he would have given him "a kicking" had he been in camp with him.
The journalist began his tweet writing: "Just bumped into Matt Hancock at Heathrow.
"I told him I’d been giving him a good kicking the entire time he was in the jungle."
Piers then added: "He said he knew. It was the purest personification of #Awks."
Mr Hancock's long-awaited return to England follows the former health secretary coming third during I'm A Celebrity's live final on Sunday night.
The MP, who lost the Tory whip at the start of the month, had been expected home sooner following his reality TV jaunt, but he instead opted to leave his girlfriend Gina Coladangelo to fly homo solo while he enjoyed some extra time in Australia.
Gina, who was there to awkwardly embrace Mr Hancock on the jungle bridge on Sunday night, jetted out of the country on Tuesday with some of Mr Hancock's celebrity campmates, but the independent MP remained Down Under to cash in on his new found fame with a lucrative interview.
Now he has arrived back in England, Mr Hancock will need to clear up several issues regarding his political career and confirm just how much of his I'm A Celebrity appearance fee will be donated to charity, following his team's refusal to confirm the amount to the Mirror on Sunday.
The former Conservative MP's reality TV adventure was slammed by millions across the country due to multiple reasons, including; the fact he is still a sitting MP (receiving £84,144 annually), his behaviour in government, his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and questions surrounding contracts issued to private companies during Mr Hancock's time as Health Secretary.
Speaking on an upcoming I'm A Celebrity homecoming special, set to air on ITV tomorrow night, Mr Hancock's girlfriend admits the MP underestimated the strong reaction his stint in the jungle would have.
She told the ITV cameras: "I think it's fair to say that Matt underestimated the scale of the reaction to him coming into the jungle.
"He's made of tough stuff, this summer we trekked around Mont Blanc together in 4 days.
"My last words to him were 'Just be yourself, be the Matt I know and it'll go really well.'"
The West Suffolk MP was forced to quit as Health Secretary in June 2021 after breaking coronavirus lockdown rules by conducting an affair in his ministerial office with his then aide Gina.
Mr Hancock played a prominent role in the government’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and branded anyone ignoring social distancing rules and restrictions as "very selfish" prior to being caught having an extra-marital affair.
