Piers Morgan has branded David Walliams 'one of the nastiest frauds in TV' after the comedian was exposed for making derogatory comments towards Britain's Got Talent contestants in leaked audio recordings.
The presenter, 57, has reignited his long-standing feud with David, 51, after recordings revealed the television star made several disrespectful comments during filming at the London Palladium in 2020.
David has since issued an apology over the shocking remarks, but Piers couldn't resist taking a swipe at his arch enemy on Twitter.
He wrote: "Tip of the iceberg.. Walliams is one of the nastiest frauds in TV."
In the audio recordings, David described one contestant, who was a pensioner, as a "c**t" three times, before commenting on another: "She thinks you want to f**k her, but you don't".
He then went on to make more crude sexual remarks.
In a statement, the comedian told The Guardian : "I would like to apologise to the people I made disrespectful comments about during breaks in filming for Britain's Got Talent in 2020.
"These were private conversations and – like most conversations with friends – were never intended to be shared. Nevertheless, I am sorry."
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Thames TV, the production company behind Britain's Got Talent explained that despite David's comments being made in a private conversation, they were "inappropriate" and he has been informed about the "expectations as to future professional conduct."
Piers and David fell out when it was first revealed that the comedian had liked a series of mean tweets about Piers.
Then Piers told The Mirror that he has always refused to return to Britain's Got Talent because David is still on it.
He said: "I think he is a duplicitous, treacherous, piece of work. He is one of those people who says one thing to your face and then sticks it to you behind your back.
"If he was sitting there I wouldn’t be interested. But if he wasn't sitting there, who knows."
Piers went on: "I will come back to BGT if the money is right and if they guarantee Walliams gets fired.
"I might even make it a contractual clause that I get to be the one who tells him he is fired.
"If I was him I would stick to writing his children's books."
Mirror Online has contacted David's representatives for comment.
