Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg says Tottenham Hotspur must make sure that they fulfil their responsibility towards Harry Kane to "make sure the scenario for him is the best possible".
The 29-year-old England captain was once again Spurs' match-winner as they overcame Crystal Palace 1-0 on Saturday in the Premier League. That header meant Kane overtook Wayne Rooney as the Premier League's second-highest ever goalscorer on 209 goals. He reached it in just 317 appearances, compared to Rooney's 491 to reach 208 goals.
Just one man has now scored more in the competition than Kane and that is Alan Shearer with his 260 goals in 441 appearances. Now only 51 goals separate the two strikers. This latest goal for Spurs also meant that Kane became the first player to score 10 headed goals in a Premier League season and the only one to net 100 goals in both home and away games in the league.

With Kane's contract about to enter its final 12 months, Hojbjerg believes that the club have to ensure that everything is perfect around their all-time top goalscorer.
"[This latest record] is amazing, but what is there for me to say [about him] that people do not know already, it is maybe difficult, but honestly, it is nice to have him around and he is one of those players who will be in the (record) books, in the history for a very long time," said the Dane.
"That we have him around, I think it is important also for Harry to understand he has a big responsibility and also I think the club has a responsibility to make sure the scenario for him is the best possible."
Hojbjerg also believes that he and every member of the team must take responsibility for what happens at Tottenham whenever they step on to the pitch.
"I think it is important that everyone understands they have responsibility. For me to play football without responsibility, personally, I find odd, but I also understand this is in some players more than others," he said. "I think in good teams, the best teams have everyone taking the responsibility in their role."
Spurs' victory at the weekend puts them in a position where if they can win at Aston Villa this coming Saturday then they will likely have wrapped up some form of European football next season in the shape of the Europa Conference League.
"The aim is to achieve the maximum position, so if that is European [football], that's European [football]," said Hojbjerg. "I think it was important to come back after a couple of games, a couple of weeks with results that didn't please us.
"In the end we win and I saw Aston Villa didn't win and when you look at the table it is better than it was yesterday. We have to continue, we have stay serious but also we have to stay together."
