Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Chelsea: Barcelona striker ‘waves goodbye’ to fans ahead of summer transfer

Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appeared to wave goodbye to the club's fans on Wednesday night ahead of an expected move to Chelsea.

Aubameyang is Thomas Tuchel's first-choice striker target and is reportedly the subject of a €20million (£16.9m) from the Blues as they look to bolster their squad.

Tuchel and Aubameyang worked together at Borussia Dortmund four years ago and the striker could have scored his final goal for Barca ahead of the reunion.

Aubameyang fired home against Manchester City in a 3-3 charity game at Camp Nou, held in honour of former Barca goalkeeper and coach Juan Carlos Unzue who has been diagnosed with ALS.

The 33-year-old was withdrawn and met with a standing ovation from those inside the stadium, to which he responded with a smile, a bowed head and a wave.

With Barca next in action on Sunday evening, the run out is likely to be Aubameyang's last in the club's colours, just seven months on from joining on a free transfer.

Aubameyang in January saw his contract with Arsenal terminated after a string of disciplinary actions, and below-par performances, so will be hoping to improve upon his return to England.
