Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has issued an update on his injury status as he continues to nurse a knock and a broken jaw. The 33-year-old striker joined Chelsea from Barcelona on transfer deadline day, penning a two-year deal which includes the option of a further year.
football.london understand that Thomas Tuchel was a driving force behind Aubameyang's move to west London this summer amid the club's mission to sign a number nine following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner. The former Chelsea boss was said to have specifically identified the former Arsenal captain as a priority signing.
However, Tuchel has since been replaced by Graham Potter and Aubameyang faces a new challenge amid his injury worries. The retired Gabon international started in the new boss' first game for Chelsea, soldiering on through an injury.

And, with the international break offering Aubameyang some rest-bite, he's provided an update on his injury status. Speaking to the in-house media team at Chelsea, the striker said: "I need more time. I’m not 100 per cent fit. It’s not easy to play with a mask and with an injury, but hopefully I will get 100 per cent as soon as possible."
Aubameyang has endured a rocky start to life in west London. A little over a week after swapping the Camp Nou for Stamford Bridge, Tuchel was dismissed from his post as head coach.
And, according to Kepa Arrizabalaga, the striker was 'a little in shock'. As quoted by The Sun, the Blues goalkeeper said: "The truth is that the first days he arrived a little scared. He was a little in shock, a lot of change, the last two or three days were very crazy for him, everything that happened to him was a misfortune."
With all things considered Potter now has a dilemma on his hands, especially with Armando Broja impressing off the bench for Chelsea in the final game before the international break. Is this the perfect chance for the Cobham graduate to build some momentum while Aubameyang nurses his injuries?
