Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Manchester United admission could change transfer decision

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one option Manchester United could look at in the final days of the transfer window as Erik ten Hag searches for attacking reinforcements.

The former Arsenal striker has been linked with a surprise move back to the Premier League after leaving the Emirates for Barcelona in January. The 33-year-old has scored 13 goals in 24 games since his switch to Spain but could leave just seven months into his two-and-a-half year deal.

United seem very keen on prising Antony from Ajax, who is currently training away from the first team in a bid to force a move away. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford is in doubt after his transfer request earlier in the summer.

Reports on Saturday suggested United may be making contingency plans and are attempting to make a late dive for Aubameyang, who has been strongly tipped for a transfer to Chelsea. However, the Gabon international’s 2020 admission could give an insight into a decisive edge the Reds may have over the Blues.

The attacker revealed he used to support United as a child and that he looked up to two club legends growing up. “[I supported] Manchester United, when I was a kid,” he told Stadium Astro.

“I remember the duo, Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke. The team was sick at that time, I think this was the first team I supported.”

In recent days, speculation claims his potential reunion with former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea may be in danger. The Sun claims that the London outfit are unwilling to hand the attacker the two-year deal he wants.

And now a further report from Sky Italy states Aubameyang is willing to listen to United’s proposal before making a decision on his future.
