A large plume of black smoke has been seen over Nottinghamshire near the M1. Images taken in the Kirkby Woodhouse area show the dark smoke rising into the clouds from a distance.
The smoke appears to be coming from the Pinxton area near the M1, though there is currently no congestion reported along the motorway as a result. Despite the smoke being seen from miles around, authorities say that no incidents have been reported.
The pictures were taken at around 2pm on Tuesday (September 20). But a Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said that no large scale fires or controlled burns had been reported, saying that the smoke could be coming from a bonfire.

The spokesperson added that no incidents in the area had been attended to by the team at Ashfield Fire Station, close to where the smoke has been seen.
