Pictures show aftermath of fire started by phone charger as Dublin Fire Brigade issue warning

Dublin Fire Brigade has urged people to avoid charging their devices overnight as pictures show the scary effects it can have.

A message posted to their Twitter account said it was understood the blaze was caused by a charger.

Firefighters from Rathfarnham and Tallaght attended the scene at a house during the night after a fire broke out.

Thankfully, Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed that no one was hurt as the family’s smoke alarm was able to alert them to the danger. The house was, however, damaged by smoke.

Pictures shared on Twitter show what appears to be a plug that has been cremated in the blaze. Another image shows damage to the socket and the wall as a result.

The Tweet by Dublin Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters from Tallaght and Rathfarnham were called to a house fire overnight which appears to have been caused by a charger.

“The family were alerted by their smoke alarm and were unharmed. The house was smoke damaged.
