Pictures: Parklife 2021 fashion highlights, trends and best-dressed as festival enters second day

It's the biggest music festival in Manchester's cultural calendar and Parklife festival-goers have spent months planning their outfits.

The Heaton Park site is awash with colourful costumes, mesh bodysuits and bucket hats again as the festival enters its second day.

80,000 people per day are attending Parklife again this year, which has shifted to new dates in September rather than its usual June weekend.

Despite milder temperatures - the weather has peaked at about 18 degrees so far and there's a forecast of rain on Sunday - skimpy outfits still reign supreme.

We've rounded up some of the key fashion trends we've seen on site at Parklife 2021.

Flares

Colourful flared trousers have been a key trend in 2021, from see-through mesh pants to 70s-printed ones.

Thankfully the weather's behaved so far, otherwise there'll be some very muddy hemlines walking around later.

There are strong 60s and 70s vibes across Heaton Park this weekend.

Colourful swirling prints and fabrics have been all over the place, in shorts, dresses, trousers and tops.

Very mini dresses

Hemlines have crept even further up this year, with teeny tiny dresses a very popular fashion trend.

Festival-goers have been flaunting their tanned legs despite the cooler temperatures.

Crazy eyewear

We've seen safety goggles, ski masks, giant sunglasses and even these weird steampunk-style goggle situations.

Parklife goers have got really creative with their specs this year.

Hawaiian shirts

The men's fashion is never quite as exciting as the women's, but the boys have all dug out their best Hawaiin shirts for this weekend.

There are loud floral shirts all over the dancefloors.

Bra tops

It's not just hemlines that have got even smaller this year - a lot of Parklife attendees have gone for bra tops for their outfits.

Paired with denim shorts, cycle shorts or those ubiquitous flares, they're definitely a staple festival fashion item.

Thigh harnesses

Garters, cut-out shorts and body harnesses have given the festival some real Lara Croft vibes his year.

Even headliner Megan Thee Stallion had leather wrapped around her thighs yesterday on the main stage.
