Pick your Newcastle United XI vs Brentford ahead of vital Premier League clash

Newcastle United will be looking to follow their up 5-1 demolition of West Ham with another statement win over Brentford in the Premier League this weekend.

Eddie Howe's side swap east for west London on Saturday afternoon as they march across the capital in pursuit of a top four finish. The rout over the Hammers has kept Newcastle in third and stretched their lead - on goal difference - to Manchester United after the Red Devils registered a 1-0 win over this weekend's opponents on Wednesday night.

Thomas Frank's side were undone by a Marcus Rashford first-half strike at Old Trafford, but Howe will have reminded his team that Brentford are a force to be reckoned with at home. In the Premier League this season, only Arsenal have managed to beat the Bees at the GTech Community Stadium.

Newcastle though will take confidence into the match and have faith in their own personnel to walk away with all three points. Callum Wilson and Joelinton both returned to the starting XI against West Ham, with each of them finding the back of the net twice.

Should the Newcastle boss wish to keep an unchanged team, that would see both Joe Willock and Alexander Isak remain on the bench for the Brentford clash. Howe's decision to rest the Swedish striker particualry caught headlines ahead of kick-off, but the former Real Sociedad man would still add another for his goal tally this term coming off the bench.
